New Testament Sketchnotes (Matthew 8-9, Mark 2-5)

Sketchnotes/ traceable doodles that go along with the Come Follow Me Curriculum for Matthew 8-9; Mark 2-5.

“Thy Faith Hath Made Thee Whole”// Matthew 8–9Mark 2–5

Hello friends! I’m happy to be back for another installment of my New Testament doodles. This week we get to focus on Christ’s healing power. I love the little snippets of stories we read about the many people Christ healed.  Their lives and experiences are vastly different, just like ours are in modern times. He loved them all individually and ministered to them one-by-one, just like He does for us.

I am excited to dive into these topics in my personal study as well as with my family.  I’ve listed a few articles, videos and printables below.  Please remember that these are meant to HELP you in your study, not to serve as additional stress.  There is no need to do big elaborate lessons.  Simple is fantastic!

In addition to lots of stories of Christ healing the sick and afflicted, we touch lightly on the Parable of the Sower.  Years ago I created a sketchnotes page to go along with that parable. You can find it here.

I put an asterisk next to my top priorities below.  If we only have time for a few things, that’s what we’ll do first.

Ideas for using weekly Come Follow Me Sketchnotes pages:

COLORING PAGE. Use as a coloring page for your kids to work on during family scripture time.  Write additional notes and insights on the pages as you go. You could add all the completed sketchnotes pages to a binder to keep as a reminder of the gospel topics you’ve discussed together.
STICKER PAPER. Print on clear sticker paper and cut apart the doodles to add to your scripture journal or into the margins of your scriptures.  (This year, I am using this free wide-margin New Testament PDF that I had printed and spiral bound at a local copy shop.  But there are many wide-margin options available.)
Printing on clear sticker paper allows you to add color to the doodles using colored pencils, but still be able to see the words beneath them.  I have tried out a few different kinds of colored pencils on this sticker paper.  Ergosoft pencils and Prismacolor pencils work really well.

TRACE. You can also trace these into your scriptures or journal using a light box or a sunny window.  My husband made me an awesome lightbox, but this one is a great option for you to purchase.
