Wow. Things have dramatically changed since my March Book of Mormon Sketchnotes were posted. If your life looks like ours: in quarantine from Covid-19, a lot of upheaval, worry and social distancing, I hope you are well mentally and physically. I’d love to know how I can help you. Please leave a comment below or send me an email.
I’m so grateful for an uplifting General Conference and the beautiful messages that were shared. I’m looking forward to sharing some doodle quotes with you soon! In all honesty, I’ve been struggling a bit (hence getting this post up so “late”) but I’m going to do my best to get back to posting the new week’s sketchnotes the Friday before. Thanks for your patience!
Each week of April I’ll add to the new sketchnotes below, so check back to grab the new sets! I also share a quick breakdown of the study our family will be doing each week. We keep things pretty simple most days. Just read and discuss, usually. But we also use Drawn In, which is a fantastic resource (Use the code HEIDI10 to get 10% off!)
I create our weekly study from the Come Follow Me Manual and the additional resources in the Ensign.
HOW TO USE BOOK OF MORMON sKETCHNOTES:
TRACE. You can also trace these into your scriptures or journal using a light box or a sunny window. My husband made me an awesome lightbox, but this one is a great option for you to purchase.
COLORING PAGE. Use as a coloring page for your kids to work on during family scripture time. Write additional notes and insights on the pages as you go. You could add all the completed sketchnotes pages to a binder to keep as a reminder of the gospel topics you’ve discussed together.
STICKER PAPER. Print on clear sticker paper and cut apart the doodles to add to your scripture journal or into the margins of your scriptures. (This year I am usinga wide-margin study edition of the Book of Mormon from Line Upon Line. Our family is using their Journaling Edition for our study together as well. But there are so many wide-margin options available! Deseret Book has several great options and you can print this free PDF and have it bound at a local copy shop.)
Printing on clear sticker paper allows you to add color to the doodles using colored pencils, but still be able to see the words beneath them. I have tried out a few different kinds of colored pencils on this sticker paper. Ergosoft pencils and Prismacolor pencils work really well.
