Hello, my friends! It’s nearly July and you know what that means! The next set of Come Follow Me: Book of Mormon Sketchnotes is ready for you!
I am super excited to study these upcoming lessons! There is just so much goodness in the book of Alma! These pages are full of fun doodles and lettering and insights that struck me as I studied the Come Follow Me lessons for July. I love adding them to my scriptures as I study. It’s pretty amazing how much better my brain remembers things when I have a visual in my mind to go along with them.
Maybe you’re that way, too? I’ve heard from so many families who use these pages with their little ones and it makes my heart so happy. Kids (and teens…and adults) like to color in the doodles while scriptures are read aloud. It’s fun to be able to pick out the image that goes along with the verses being discussed by the family. And bonus, busy kiddos are (usually) quiet kiddos.
I’m grateful for your messages of support and appreciation. I’m a Words of Affirmation girl and your kind messages and emails mean the world to me.
I have again set this up again as a Pay What You Can option. I am so incredibly grateful for and humbled by your support. You have the option to donate as much or as little as you would like (even $0).
Included in the kit this month are four sketchnotes pages (one for every lesson in July) as well as a printable reading calendar. This came in so handy for us last month! I hope it was useful for you as well! I like to print my calendar half-size and glue it into my bullet journal. It makes things so easy when we sit down to study together.
All the files for the month will be delivered to your email address in a zip folder. Most likely you will not be able to open this on your phone. Please open it on a computer or other device that can open zip files and print from there.
HOW TO USE BOOK OF MORMON sKETCHNOTES:
TRACE. You can also trace these into your scriptures or journal using a light box or a sunny window. My husband made me an awesome lightbox, but this one is a great option for you to purchase.
COLORING PAGE. Use as a coloring page for your kids to work on during family scripture time. Write additional notes and insights on the pages as you go. You could add all the completed sketchnotes pages to a binder to keep as a reminder of the gospel topics you’ve discussed together.
STICKER PAPER. Print on clear sticker paper and cut apart the doodles to add to your scripture journal or into the margins of your scriptures. (This year I am usinga wide-margin study edition of the Book of Mormon from Line Upon Line. Our family is using their Journaling Edition for our study together as well. But there are so many wide-margin options available! Deseret Book has several great options and you can print this free PDF and have it bound at a local copy shop.)
Printing on clear sticker paper allows you to add color to the doodles using colored pencils, but still be able to see the words beneath them. I have tried out a few different kinds of colored pencils on this sticker paper. Ergosoft pencils and Prismacolor pencils work really well.
