June 2020 Come Follow Me Sketchnotes

Happy June, my friends! If you follow me on Instagram you heard that sketchnotes were going to be a little late this month. I apologize for the delay. We had the opportunity to go cam

ping last week, somewhat spontaneously. It was a much-needed trip and we had an absolutely lovely time. I had been hustling my guts out to the the post up for you before we left, but realized as we were packing and prepping for the trip and I was still wanting to get this post out, that pushing so hard was only going to make everyone in my family miserable.

So I changed my goal to: Get on the road without being angry. I’m certain you have NEVER experienced this (*wink*). But often when our family is going on a trip we’re quiet in the car for the first hour because everyone is so snippy and angry with each other. Rather than starting off our trip that way, I decided to get finish up this sketchnotes post a little later than I would have liked.

I’m grateful for your messages of concern and so glad to know that the sketchnotes are helpful to you! And I’m really happy to have the whole month of June available for you today!

I have again set this up as a Pay What You Can option. I am so incredibly grateful for and humbled by your support. You have the option to donate as much or as little as you would like (even $0).

Included in the kit this month are four sketchnotes pages (one for every lesson in June) as well as a printable reading calendar. This came in so handy for us last month! I hope it was useful for you as well!

All the files for the month will be delivered to your email address in a zip folder. Most likely you will not be able to open this on your phone. Please open it on a computer and print from there.

HOW TO USE BOOK OF MORMON sKETCHNOTES:

TRACE. You can also trace these into your scriptures or journal using a light box or a sunny window.  My husband made me an awesome lightbox, but this one is a great option for you to purchase.

COLORING PAGE. Use as a coloring page for your kids to work on during family scripture time.  Write additional notes and insights on the pages as you go. You could add all the completed sketchnotes pages to a binder to keep as a reminder of the gospel topics you’ve discussed together.

STICKER PAPER. Print on clear sticker paper and cut apart the doodles to add to your scripture journal or into the margins of your scriptures.  (This year I am usinga wide-margin study edition of the Book of Mormon from Line Upon Line.  Our family is using their Journaling Edition for our study together as well. But there are so many wide-margin options available! Deseret Book has several great options and you can print this free PDF and have it bound at a local copy shop.)

Printing on clear sticker paper allows you to add color to the doodles using colored pencils, but still be able to see the words beneath them.  I have tried out a few different kinds of colored pencils on this sticker paper.  Ergosoft pencils and Prismacolor pencils work really well.

  1. Please let me know what you are thinking price wise. I clicked free this month but am more than willing to pay, I just have no idea what is fair for both of us. I love sketchnotes and look forward to it each month. Thanks again Ruth

I leave it open because I want you to pay what you are comfortable with. Sorry, I know that’s vague! I’m really happy with whatever you think is fair and it all makes a difference.

  2. My cart will not allow me to check out because of my I.P. address it says. How do I download these if it will not let me check out?

That’s weird! I’ve never had that problem before. Will you please email me which kits you want? hillman.heidi @ gmail
