I love to embroider.  Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved to create art with needle and thread.  I remember the first embroidery pattern I ever designed by myself: a giant Tweety Bird.  I was probably 12 years old and I planned to work on it during a long family road trip.  Those plans were spoiled by carsickness (and so was the poor Tweety Bird, there was no rescue from his horrific fate), but the love of my craft lingered on.  

One thing that always drove me nuts was how to organize the skeins of embroidery floss once I’d used some.  During my teenage years, the partial skeins usually ended up in a mangled, tangled mess in a ziplock bag.  But no longer!

Now I wind the floss around a wooden clothespin, clamping the ends in place to keep them from unwinding.  The pretty basket full of my partially used skeins is on a shelf in my office. I love that my stash is not only organized but also a beautiful addition to my workspace.  The colorful basket brightens my day each time I see it.
