“Stuck To Us Like Glue”
Yesterday morning we were able to have our sweet Ethan sealed to us in the Jordan River temple. The ceremony was small, just family and a couple close friends. It was perfect!
Ellie looked beautiful in the white dress Grandma Hillman made and Ethan was sweet and happy as ever. He kept smiling at us and every time he did, I was overwhelmed with love for him. He is such a perfect fit for our family! This whole experience has taught me to trust more completely in my Heavenly Father. We prayed for years for our little family to grow. We passed through heartache as we waited and wondered why we weren’t blessed with something we wanted so badly. We were led to become a foster family and experienced more joy and heartache through that process than we could have imagined. We had no idea where the spirit was leading us! We just knew it was right, and now we know why. Our prayers have been answered! I don’t know why Ethan needed to come to us the way he did. But looking back I wouldn’t change a thing. He brings so much joy to our family and I can’t imagine my life without his sweet smile.
After the temple, we had a luncheon at our church (which I failed to get any pictures of, so if any of you did, please pass them on…). We enjoyed visiting with family, catching up with old friends and eating yummy food. It was a long day, and the kids lasted much longer than I thought they would. (Ellie broke down several times at the end, and Ethan did once we got home, but we’ll pretend that didn’t happen.)
In short, it was a perfect day! Ellie keeps telling people that Ethan is now “stuck to us like glue”. I like that description, as long as the glue is eternal! We are feeling very blessed and are looking forward to whatever else our Father has in store for us.
ps–my cute friend, Dani, took the above picture. Didn’t she do a great job? Yes, it’s real!

Congratulations! What a sweet little family you are!!!
Congratulations Hillman family! I know exactly where you're coming from. We've been there too and are hoping for the same outcome in the end. What beautiful pictures and what a wonderful experience. Ellie will have some beautiful memories of being in the temple.
I was thinking about you guys all weekend. I love that Ellie says he is stuck to you like glue. As we entered the Salt Lake Valley from Ut. Co. and I saw the Jordan River Temple the image of your cute family entered into my mind. We enjoy being your neighbors and even more so we love being your friends.
Yay! I am so happy for you guys. We too thought about you all day. You guys deserve this cute little guy and he deserves you. We love you guys and are so glad to be friends.
I'm so happy for you! I wish I could have been there to celebrate with you. I still have yet to meet this handsome little man. And I love the last picture. It must be framed and hung right by the one from your wedding picture. (I know how you love it when people state the obvious!) Love you!
Congrats! I got chills reading this! Love you guys!
