100 Days of Scripture Lettering
I am headed into my fourth year of creating art every single day. This daily habit has brought so much joy to my life as well as challenged and expanded my artistic talent like nothing I’ve ever done before.
This year I am shaking things up a little bit, but not really. I have decided to continue making art each day, but I will divide up my focus into three 100 day projects, with breaks as needed for vacations, etc. While I’ll still create art on those days, perhaps it will just be a doodle or two in my journal, rather than a time intensive piece for a project I’m working on.
The first 100 Day project is well underway now, I began it on January 1. I am lettering, and usually illustrating, quotes from the scriptures. This is something I’ve been thinking about doing, for years and now is finally the time to make it happen. I have a few other ideas in mind for the other two 100 day projects this year, but I’m going to keep them under wraps until I’m sure it’s what I want to do and I have the ideas fleshed out a little better.
In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite pieces from the challenge so far. Which of these do you like best? I’m thinking about offering some here as free downloads…any requests?
