He is Risen! 15 Week Family Home Evening Plan
This idea has been kicking around in my mind for years, and I’m so happy to finally bring it to life. Here’s the idea: study one story of Christ’s life from His birth and ministry through His death and resurrection each week from Christmas to Easter.
Of course it would be impossible to study every story we have from Him in that amount of time, so I narrowed it down to give a broad outline of his life. There are so many beautiful stories I could have chosen, these are the ones that stood out to me. The ones I look forward to studying with my own family.
It’s likely you’ve already read a lot about Christ’s birth since that is a tradition for many families around Christmastime. You probably acted out the Nativity story and read Luke 2. So if you’ve discovered this guide well after Christmas, there is still a benefit to jumping in where you are.
These lessons are designed to be simple. I know how busy life can get! It is my hope that even if you only have 5 or 10 minutes to squeeze in a Family Home Evening lesson, you’ll still be able to use this plan. And if you miraculously have more time, I’ve included more resources to allow you to go deeper into the topics with your family. Please take what is useful to you and leave out what doesn’t work for you in this season of life. Download your free copy by clicking ADD TO CART at the bottom of this post.
Each lesson includes:
• a song suggestion
• selected scripture verses to read
• discussion questions
• video(s) to watch from the LDS Bible Video series
• Additional resources: conference talks, etc. to provide further insights for older kids or adults who want to study more in depth.
• a full-page scripture verse coloring page to go along with the weekly lesson. Hang it someplace your family will see it often as a reminder of Jesus Christ and the stories you’re studying from His life. There’s also an extra-special He is Risen coloring page for the final week!
I am looking forward to diving into this with my own family over the next weeks. It is my hope that it will bring Christ to life for them and allow me to deepen my relationship with Him.

Blessings to you and your family.
