General Conference Journal for Busy Moms
How to get the most out of General Conference, even with little kids around. Free General Conference printable journal.
Several years ago I showed you the simple way I take notes during General Conference. I am not in a season of life that allows me to sit and listen to every single word when Conference is happening. I have little, very active children. I am constantly up and down, in and out, helping them to tune in and understand what they can from my two favorite weekends of the year. Encouraging reverence, shuffling through Lego, coloring and handing out fruit snacks. I listen to Conference in the midst of a lot of things going on at once, and then I listen and study again and again when I have quiet moments to myself over the next six months.
If you are not currently in the middle of the busy loudness, the free printable I have for you today can still be helpful! I call this the Conference Journal for Busy Moms, but I truly believe that this method of taking notes can work for anyone.

How to Take Notes at General Conference
I do a small amount of preparation beforehand that yields great results. And by that I’m referring to preparing my own mind and heart and a notebook for me. (Of course it helps to prepare activities and snacks for kids, but that’s not what this post is about.)
For the past few years I’ve used this free printable (or I just wrote the same headings in a notebook myself). It felt like an update in style was necessary, so I created a beautiful watercolor and hand-lettered version for you. You can find the download below.
I am using one of these dot-grid notebooks as my Conference journal this time around. In the past I’ve used moleskine notebooks (both large and small ) as well as basically every other notebook available. The actual book you use doesn’t really matter. It’s more about the method and follow-through with studying the talks again that makes the biggest difference.
Watch how I set up my travelers notebook conference journal in the video below.

Questions
I created this journal printable to help all of us hold on to the insights we receive in the middle of filling sippy cups and snuggling little ones.
It’s designed to be simple, easy to use, and uplifting. And to help you get the most out of LDS General Conference. Use it to jot down your impressions and the beautiful quotes you hear. It will help you retain more of the insights you receive during General Conference.
As I prepare for General Conference, I write down two to three questions that I would like to receive answers to. I think about the challenges out family is currently facing, the doubts and concerns in my own heart, the state of the world. I write down the questions that feel most pressing, the most heavy, in my journal, and listen specifically for those answers as we watch General Conference. As answers come to me, I record them alongside the questions.
The other pages are used as a quick reference point. A place to scribble in pencil a thought or idea, or a direct quote from a speaker. Which I will then come back later to write again in pen and make it more sketchnotes style. Of course, you can take notes however you want to! That’s the beauty of the simplicity of these labels.
How to Use Free General Conference Journal:
Download and Print (I used white sticker paper, but you could use regular copy paper and a glue stick!)
Cut out each label
Glue into your scripture journal or other notebook.
While you’re listening to Conference, leave this journal in an easily accessible place (right between the snacks and the coloring books 🙂 ). When a line from a talk, a scripture reference or direct revelation strikes your heart, write it down on the appropriate page.
Go back in a quiet moment and study in-depth the revelation you received and ponder how to implement it in your life.
I know how hard it can be as a busy mom to feel like you’re getting the most out of Conference weekend. I hope this journal helps you! Tag me on Instagram so I can see how you put it to use.
